Another group of professionals you will probably have to get costs from are plumbers. If you plan on having any kind of heating or cooling units inside your greenhouse you’ll have to have a plumber install them.
There’s no sense in having to pay more for this service than you have to. A few phone calls to find the best price can really help keep your greenhouse construction costs down. Don’t forget to price costs from the plumbers for every size greenhouse you are considering having built.
You should consider the bigger the greenhouse the larger the heating and cooling units you’ll have to have. Therefore, the plumber will charge more money for the bigger sizes of greenhouse. Remember what was mentioned above. Most greenhouse owners will tell you, they built their first greenhouse too small.
Don’t let the “sticker shock” affect your decision on size of greenhouse. Don’t forget also, a greenhouse is operating unit. The cheapest to build doesn’t necessarily mean for the long term it will be the cheapest to operate and maintain.
Another great source that you can use to research greenhouses includes gardening magazine advertisements. You should also try and talk with as many local greenhouse owners and operators as you can. Ask them if they wish they could do it over, if there was something they wish they had or hadn’t done. Inquire about what their major likes and dislikes about their greenhouses are. However, if they don’t give you too warm of a reception; try to understand they may see you as potential competition.
