What to Grow
Unlike a lot of other businesses people start, a greenhouse business can turn a profit within the first few months or year.
You really don’t have to be an expert gardener to run a successful greenhouse business. You just have to be willing to do a little research and be willing to literally get your hands dirty. It’s best for motivational purposes that you try to grow plants that will be profitable but easy to grow, especially if you’re new to greenhouse growing.
To find out what plants and flowers are easy to grow, you would just have to take a look around your area. Find out what people have planted in their gardens. Some other profitable plants you can grow include the following: Wax begonias, ivy, marigolds, philodendron, petunias, coeus, and cacti. All of those can make you a nice profit.
When it comes to how to sell your greenhouse grown plants, there are many available options you can choose from. You can approach supermarkets, dime stores, coffee shops, hospitals, junk stores, drug stores, and specialty shops and ask if they’d like to buy your plants to sell.
You can even put them out for sale at flea markets. This is a really good way to sell your greenhouse grown plants. You could also set up beside the road in a heavily travelled section. Word of mouth is another great way to sell your plants. Tell your family and friends you have greenhouse grown plants available. Get business cards. Hand them out. You’ll be amazed at what this can do for you.
Another great source of revenue for you is home owners; especially if you target sub-divisions. You can cover a large amount of homes in a short amount of time. Most of these people adore plants and flowers but just don’t have time to garden or shop for them. You can be successful if you introduce yourself and bring a few types along with you and bring the flowers and plants to them. Especially if you offer the plants or flowers at a price they just can say no to.
